ABOUT

Lucy Liao is a passionate pianist and music educator currently pursuing her studies in Music Performance at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU). Growing up with a deep connection to the piano, she began her musical journey at a young age and has since dedicated herself to exploring diverse styles across Romantic eras. Her repertoire spans Baroque works like Bach’s French Suite No. 5 and Scarlatti’s Sonata in E minor, Classical pieces by Haydn and Mozart, Romantic compositions from Chopin, Schumann, and Mendelssohn, as well as impressionistic works by Debussy.

During her studies, Lucy has actively balanced performance with practical teaching experience. In the summer of 2022, she worked as a Piano Teacher at LAIER Musical Instrument Store in Hengyang, China, guiding students through technical fundamentals, musical expression, and practice strategies while maintaining open communication with parents about their progress. Later, in June 2023, she served as a Music Teaching Assistant at Zhangshu Middle School, where she collaborated on lesson planning, designed engaging classroom materials, and introduced interactive activities like group discussions to foster student creativity.

Lucy believes in the power of music to connect people and inspire growth. Whether performing on stage or teaching in the classroom, she strives to share her love for the piano with clarity, patience, and a focus on meaningful communication.
